The 24-3 Prayer Push, taking place from Sept. 29 - Oct. 2 in the Lowell prayer chapel, intends to get students on their knees and praying for the Spring Arbor University community. It will be three days during which someone will always be in prayer for the needs and concerns of SAU students and staff.
“I think the goal is just to get students to think about their quiet times and challenge themselves with becoming corporate with their lives,” said sophomore Bryan Dennis, a film major and organizer of the Prayer Push. Dennis orchestrated a similar event last March, which saw more than 70 students making their way in and out of the Lowell prayer chapel every hour of the day and night.
Students may volunteer for the Prayer Push by signing up for a prayer timeslot. A sign-up sheet is posted outside of the dining commons. Dennis has already collected prayer requests from students during Monday’s chapel, and cards are available in the Lowell prayer chapel to write down any prayer/praise requests for others to pray for during their timeslots.
“The prayer room isn’t about praying for yourself. It’s about praying for the campus and what we can do this year,” said Dennis, who hopes that this event will spark interest for more like it in the future.

“I think it’s really good that we have something going on like this. I’m glad Bryan took the step to actually start up a campus-wide prayer event because there are a lot of people that need prayer really bad.” Casey Butler, sophomore, worship arts.
