Unless you have been living under a rock for the past 18 months you have no excuse to not know what is going down this week in Denver, Colo.

Okay for those who don't know I will tell you. Barak Obama has become the man for the Democrats. He promises change though he lacks experience. But guess what? Obama solved that problem. He announced via a 3 a.m. text message that he has chosen Senator Joe Biden (D-Del.) as his vice president. If you know anything about Biden you know that he is well versed in international affairs where Obama lacks a great deal of experience.

To be honest Biden was not under the radar for the VP position but he certainly was not the first pick for most people who will vote for Obama. The dream ticket of Obama-Clinton is now a distant memory, and that's heartbreaking for many Clinton supporters. The Obama camp had a hard decision to make and it was smart and calculated.

As for what the Democratic National Convention is doing in Denver it can better be explained by the calculated responses to all McCain's attempts to make Obama look like a celebrity. Because we all know Republicans would never elect a celebrity like Ronald Regan and Arnold Schwarzenegger. They steer clear of Hollywood at all cost.

In all honesty Obama does look like a celebrity in some ways but he can't help that. Obama has international appeal; what I mean is he is a great speaker, energetic and appealing to the working class American. Those who feel the struggle of American economy and the rich who just want to see change in the White House, which let's face it has been going on a downhill spiral for a while now.

Obama can't help nor stop the celebrity endorsements. Why would he want to stop something like that? In an age where people relate more to celebrities and reality television why would he? Of course he has to take the good with the bad, but there will be mostly good than bad.

There is one problem that I find with all the celebrity attention that Obama has been garnered with: that he might somehow be overshadowed by all the celebrity attention that he is getting and that can't happen. For him to keep his 'working class' appeal he should continue to downplay any connection to Hollywood.

There are a lot of people with big names that are willing to put their names behind Obama. Granted they might be celebrities but they are still big names that anyone can recognize. Halle Berry, Scarlett Johansson, Laurence Fishburne, John Kerry (D-Mass.), Robert DeNiro, Edward Norton, Ben Affleck and so many others decided to put their names on the line and recognize that this man might be the change that our country needs to bring America back to where it use to be.
