Don't buy all your books at the bookstore. You can save a lot of money by buying used books from other students, borrowing from or sharing with friends, or buying books on-line.
The university has a pool in Dunckel Gym and there are times when it is open to students.
There are lots of student groups and ministries on campus. This doesn't mean you should join them all. Try finding out about a few, and then choose one or two you want to commit to, but don't spread yourself […] too thin.
Don't slip on the Concept. Under the Clock Tower, there is a shiny tile with the Concept engraved on it. It is very tempting to walk on this shiny object but avoid doing so. When it is wet, it is very slippery. We have all seen many near wipeouts at the hands of the Clock Tower.
Wear flip-flops in the shower…trust us on this one.
Avoid engagements at Cedar Bend. Relationships tend to move at light speed at SAU. Take it slow when getting to know the opposite sex.
Not only does your student ID allow you to eat at the DC, but you can also do meal exchanges at the Cougar Den or use Cougar cash to purchase snacks.
Holton Health Center is available when you catch a cold or twist an ankle. Part of your tuition pays for this service, so take advantage of it.
The Business Office can cash checks up to $50 per day. They can also break large bills.
Check your campus e-mail often. Important e-mails from professors, classmates and administration come every day.
You can send packages at the Spring Arbor Post Office on Taft Road across from Marino's Pizza.
Serisouly, go to class! This isn't high school anymore. Important information is discussed every class period, and profs usually don't like to repeat it to people skipping class.
