Soup and spaghetti are other easy, filling meals that require very little preparation. For some pasta variety, add green onions, tomato slices or chicken in with the sauce, or pick up some bowtie or fettuccini noodles.

Many students skimp on breakfast in order to sleep in, but your mom was right-breakfast really is the most important meal of the day. Studies show that a good meal in the morning will make you less hungry throughout the day. If you are pressed for time, instant oatmeal requires only a bowl, a spoon and hot water. Cereal, which will keep for most of the semester, packs some protein into your morning when you add milk. And while you will need to clean up your mess a bit, the heat pad on your coffee machine cooks a buttered bagel or piece of toast almost as well as a toaster.

If you are willing to put in the necessary legwork, making your own food is not only easy but fun and healthy. Chances are, you already know how to craft meals that make potato chips taste like burnt cardboard in comparison. All you need to do is get into that grocery store!
