-Were you excited that you won? Were you anxious for the results?
I am honored that I hold this position. My hope is to be a servant leader, nothing more and nothing less. After voting was finished and there was nothing more that I could do I found myself questioning what would happen. It was strange to no longer have any control. I simply had to wait and see. So, in retrospect, yes I was anxious.

-Do you feel that you are ready to take the position?
I can say I have worked hard to be on top of things and I trust that hard work will pay off. Nevertheless, I know that prayer essential to this position. Serving others is difficult work, by the grace of God we get things done.

-What the students should expect out of you?
Students should expect me to work hard for what they want. Our campaign placed an emphasis on meeting with all student ministry and student organization leaders. We also emphasized the enhancement of campus facilities. While we seek to accomplish these goals I desire to listen to students to hear what other opportunities might lay right around the corner. With this said, I want students to dream about ideas and bring them to me to see what is possible.

-What do you expect out of the students (opinions, ideas, etc)?
I hope students give us criticism and keep us accountable to what we promised them. From interactions with students I hope to find motivation along with an idea of what I need to do better. I also want students to be realistic realizing that we can only accomplish a set amount of tasks in one year, so I hope they spend time thinking about ideas before they throw them our way. The best idea is for a student to have some sort of plan written and then I would love to discuss it with them.

-What do you most look forward to next year having this position?
In the end, I want to get to know tons of people. I have this position to serve people and it is difficult to serve people if you do not even know who they are. I want the students to know me and appreciate what I am doing. This begins with me initiating contact with them. Clearly, it's all about the people.

-Anything else you would like to say?
I want the students to know what our mission statement is: "To provide the student body with steadfast leadership while refining spiritual, educational and social aspects of life on the campus of Spring Arbor University."
