It has been a while since Spring Arbor University has been an official charter member of the American Chemical Society. In the 1960's and 1970's SAU was a member of the world's current largest scientific society. Now, students like seniors David Sellers and Scott Hasbrouck are working to reignite the campus's interest in the sciences.

Athens, Thessaloniki, Meteora, Corinth and Olympia are just a few of the places we visited during the Cross Cultural trip to Greece in May. Sixteen students along with Professors Linda Sherrill, Chuck and Mary Campbell, traveled throughout the country of Greece for three weeks and the experience was more than we could have imagined.

A country filled with so much culture and fashion that you might get overloaded. But guess what? I didn’t—in fact, I loved every bit of South Korea. The people were amazing and inviting. Initially, there was hesitation in interacting with the Korean people, but all you have to do is say ‘hi’ in Korea and they are off and running with a conversation.

If Egypt were a word, it would be “open.”The sky above the mountains is an endless blue. Beyond the crush of cities hugging the fertile Nile, the desert stretches from horizon to horizon, bare and silent. Wherever you go, you are met with genuine smiles, some sort of food and metaphorically open arms.
