Relay For Life includes walking around a track so many times that dizziness, sunburn and sleep deprivation are experienced. However, it also includes great fun and fellowship with friends. Most importantly, Relay For Life is "…a time to celebrate those who have battled cancer, remember those who have been lost to it, and get inspired to fight back," as stated on the official Relay For Life website.

Water damage afflicted the video production and audio labs in Sayre Decan hall last week. Professor Dorie Shelby, who teaches the University's video production class, was hardest hit with the damages. The room mainly affected housed 10 boxes containing teaching material.

A free enterprise lecture on the ethics of market capitalism will be held at 6 p.m. in the Spring Arbor University White Auditorium. Dr. Gary Wolfram of Hillsdale College will be the keynote speaker.

The Big Read is coming back to Jackson County for the second time, this year featuring Rudolfo Anaya's Bless Me, Ultima.
The Big Read is a county-wide book club of sorts, encouraging students and members of the Jackson community to read, discuss and interact with a book over the course of one month.
