As Aldi's prepares to become the latest retailer to head to the east side of town, city officials are concerned about the loss of west-side sales tax revenue. The City Council voted Tuesday to approve Aldi discount food store's plans to build a new location next to Dick's Sporting Goods on the east side of town.

UISG President Maison Bleam asked the senators for $70,000 to fund an alcohol-free tailgate. The majority of the money would come from the student activity fee.

UIC Library reopens archive, releases documents

The University of Illinois at Chicago reopened its Chicago Annenberg Challenge archive on Tuesday, August 26, releasing its documents. Among those released were documents regarding UIC Prof. Bill Ayers.

The Challenge archive was temporarily closed during August after a request by the National Review was made.

UI Professor William Reisinger remembers former colleague Arthur Miller as "one of the most distinguished scholars" in political science and credits him for enhancing the field at the UI.



"Since Miller joined the UI Department of Political Science in 1985, he has strengthened the department's reputation in the discipline, and its faculty members and students have benefited from his expertise in political psychology and survey methods," Reisinger said in an e-mail.
